governing body for all rifle competition and all NRA rules apply
LOCATION: WILCOX
RANGE (RANGE 103) U.S. Marine Corps Base, Camp Pendleton, California.
TIME: Check-in
at stat office begins at 0630. Line is hot at 0700.
ENTRY FEES/DEADLINES:
Monthly matches are $40.00. If you must cancel your prepaid entry, you
may do so at any time, if you choose to cancel and have not prepaid, you
will be subject to a $10.00 cancellation penalty. Our club utilizes paid
target pullers. They are scheduled and we commit to pay them based on your
match entries. If you "no show" on match day there will be no refund. (Last-minute
active duty military entries will be accommodated as "walk-on's" if time
and space permits).
Due to
the need to schedule target pullers and clear visitors with base security,
all entries must be mailed and received no later than the Monday before
the match.
EQUIPMENT: Competitors
must provide their own rifle with sling and ammunition (88 rds minimum,
100 recommended). Eye and ear protection are mandatory. Empty chamber flags
are mandatory, limited quantities are available at the stat office for
$1.00. Shooting gloves/mitts, jackets, mats and spotting scopes are highly
recommended.
ELIGIBILITY:
All members of the National Rifle Association are eligible.
CLASSIFICATIONS:
You must indicate on your enclosed entry form: rifle type--"A" (Service
Rifle) or "B" (Match Rifle), your NRA number and your highest classification
achieved. All unclassified shooters will be placed in the Master "B" class
unless 5 or more such entries are received. In that case they will compete
amongst themselves. Please use the enclosed entry form.
SCORING/SQUADDING:
All entries will be pre-squadded on the firing line. Scorecards will be
issued from the stat office at time of check-in. All competitors will score
for each other. All NRA rules apply. Challenges to your scores require
a $3.00 challenge fee, which will be returned if your challenge is won.
Rapid fire challenges must be made within 1 1/2 minutes of your scores
being posted. Completed and signed scorecards must be turned in to the
line officer at the conclusion of each stage of fire. Failure to do so
may result in disqualification. Special squadding requests will be honored
as time and space allows.
PROMOTIONS/AWARDS:
There must be five competitors in a category/class to be eligible for an
award. Fewer than five will be promoted from the bottom up, until 5 competitors
are achieved (three for the junior women's category) only the high master
class may be combined across rifle types. If these measures still result
in fewer than five competitors, they will be eligible for match winner
awards only.
RANGE LOCATION:
The Santa Margarita Gun Club is located aboard Marine Corps Base (MCB)
Camp Pendleton, California. Camp Pendleton is located to the north of Oceanside,
CA, and to the south of San Clemente, Ca.
From Interstate
5 north or south, exit at the main gate, Camp Pendleton MCB exit. Competitors
will enter the main gate and sign in if required, allow extra time for
this. Registration, driver's license, and proof of insurance will be required
to come aboard.
FACILITIES: Camping
is authorized at the range site in the parking area only. There are no
water, toilet or dumping facilities. Campfires are prohibited. This is
a military installation and military operations take precedence. Range
closures may occur with no notification. In the event of a cancellation,
entry fees will be reimbursed.
